Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud: Removal

1.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

2.

Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .

3.

Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .

4.

Remove the CAC outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .

5.

Remove the CAC outlet pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Outlet Pipe .

6.

Remove the bolts and position the degas bottle aside.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

7.

Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connectors.

8.

Detach the pin-type retainers and harness retainer that secure the wiring harness to the cooling fan shroud.

9.

Position the wiring harness aside.

10.

Remove the bolts that secure the cooling fan motor and shroud.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

11.

Lift the cooling fan motor and shroud upward and place wooden block to support it. Detach the pin-type retainers that secure the lower radiator shield to the cooling fan shroud. Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block

12.

Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
