Block Heater: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- 1.WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this service information, refer to Safety Warnings in GENERAL INFORMATION . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining and Vacuum Filling .
- 3.NOTE: Note the position of the component before removal.NOTE: Make sure that the component is installed to the position noted before removal.NOTE: If a new block heater is being installed do not use sealer on the threads of the block heater or block opening. Sealer is pre-applied to the block heater threads.

Release the electrical connector locking retainer.
- 2.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
- 3.
Remove the block heater.Material: Threadlock 262 / TA-26 (WSK-M2G351-A6)
Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
