Pinpoint Test C : The Visual Park Aid Alert Is Inoperative - Vehicles With Rear Only Parking Aid Camera: Notes

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

REFER to: Parking Aid - System Operation and Component Description .

Possible Causes 

• Communication network concern
• Rear parking aid camera
• PAM (integral to the BCM)
• BCM concern
• FCDIM (vehicles equipped with 4.2 in (107 mm) display)
• APIM (vehicles equipped with 8 in (203 mm) touchscreen)

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-Checks 

• If the vehicle is equipped with an 8 in (203 mm) touchscreen display, perform an APIM reset and reevaluate the concern prior to following this pinpoint test. .
• If the rear parking aid camera is not configured after replacement, some video functions will be inoperative. Verify the rear video camera configuration using the diagnostic scan tool.
