Parking Brake Warning Chime

The parking brake warning chime sounds if the ignition is in RUN, the parking brake is engaged, and the vehicle speed is greater than 5 km/h (3 mph). The parking brake warning chime stops sounding and resets if the parking brake is released, the ignition is not in the RUN mode, the vehicle speed is less than 5 km/h (3 mph), or after 90 seconds from the time the chime is activated.

The IPC receives the parking brake warning message and the vehicle speed data from the BCM over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN). The BCM receives the vehicle speed data from the GWM over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN). The GWM receives the vehicle speed data from the ABS module over the HEV - CAN.
