Electric Vehicle Engine Off Warning Chime

The electric vehicle engine off warning chime feature informs the driver the electric vehicle is in a state that could be driven or the ignition has been left on. The IPC also displays the ready to drive message center indicator when the electric vehicle engine off warning chime sounds.

The IPC requires 3 messages to control the electric vehicle engine off warning chime. The messages are:

The IPC receives the door status message from the BCM over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN).

The IPC receives the gear lever position message from the BCM over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN). The BCM receives the gear lever position message from the GWM over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN). The GWM receives the gear lever position message from the PCM over the HEV - CAN.

The IPC receives the ready to drive indication request from the GWM over the Infotainment Controller Area Network (I-CAN). The GWM receives the ready to drive indication request from the SOBDMC over the HEV - CAN.
