Passive Key And Immobilizer System Message Center Displays

The IPC provides passive key and immobilizer system message center displays to indicate the following:

• A steering lock fault exists
• Accessory power is active
• Key is in the backup slot
• Key is in the luggage compartment
• Key is left in the vehicle
• No key is detected
• Press the brake to start the vehicle

The IPC uses multiple messages received from the RFA module and the BCM over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) to display the passive key and immobilizer system messages.

The required network messages are:

• RKE key in trunk
• Passive key warning
• Steering column failure
• Key warning indication data
• Press brake to start message request
• Door status
