Passenger Seat Backrest Cover - Vehicles With: Fold Flat Seat: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1.

Remove the seat. Refer to: Front Seat

2.

NOTE: Typical head restraint guide sleeve shown below, others similar.

Depress the locking tabs and remove the head restraint.

Remove the head restraint guide sleeves.

Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver

Discard the head restraint guide sleeves.

5.

Remove the backrest recline handle.
1. 1.
  
  Remove the fastener cover.
1. 2.
  
  Remove the bolt.
  Torque
  
  : 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

6.

Remove the screw and U-clip. Remove the outboard upper side shield.
Torque

: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

Remove the screws and remove the outboard lower side shield.
Torque

: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

Remove the U-clip and remove the inboard upper side shield.

Remove the screw and remove the inboard lower side shield.
Torque

: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)

Release the locking clips and remove the backrest lower trim.

Remove the seat back panel.
1. 1.
  
  Remove the covers and screws.
  Torque
  
  : 27 lb.in (3 Nm)
1. 2.
  
  Slide the panel upward.

Release the backrest cover lower J-clip.

13.

Partially invert the backrest cover and release it from the backrest foam.
1. 1.
  
  Press the backrest cover support wire inward.
1. 2.
  
  Rotate the backrest cover support wire downward and release it from backrest foam.

14.

Remove the backrest fold flat handle assembly.
1. 1.
  
  Lift the fold flat release handle.
1. 2.
  
  Insert the screwdrivers into the fold flat handle bezel openings to release the locking tabs.
  Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver
1. 3.
  
  Lift and remove the handle assembly.

15.

Release the backrest cover from the fold flat mechanism tabs.

16.

Remove the backrest cover.

  NOTE: Follow the unique instruction or graphics for this step in installation.
  
  Remove the hog rings.
1. 2.
  
  Push upward and rotate the backrest cover support wire and release it from the backrest foam.
