Pinpoint Test Ar : The Turn/Hazard Signal On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. AR1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Unbuckle the driver safety belt.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

    Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  AR2
    No  Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .

  2. AR2 CHECK THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR OPERATION

    • Place the turn signal in the LH or RH turn position and monitor the turn indicator operation.

    Do the turn indicators operate correctly? 

    Yes  GO to  AR3
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test Q 

  3. AR3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM)
    No  Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
