Pinpoint Test Be : The Headlamps On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. BE1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Unbuckle the driver safety belt.
    • Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

    Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  BE2
    No  INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .

  2. BE2 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: IPC .
    No  GO to  BE3

  3. BE3 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
    No  DIAGNOSE all BCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) .
