HUD - Performance Shift Indication

The HUD provides the performance shift indication to the driver. The performance shift mode, shift points and display intensity are selected by the driver through the message center. The IPC provides the driver selections to the HUD and provides a shift indicator chime tone to correspond with the indication displayed by the HUD. The driver selected HUD modes are as follows:

The IPC receives engine RPM data from the GWM over the HS-CAN3. The GWM receives the engine RPM data from the PCM over the HS-CAN1.

The HUD receives the HUD display intensity, HUD shift point and HUD mode messages from the GWM over the HS-CAN2. The GWM receives the HUD display intensity, HUD shift point and HUD mode messages from the IPC over the HS-CAN3.
