B11D8:12 and B11D8:14: Notes

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The RCM transmits an event notification signal which communicates crash status and SRS deployment status to the BCM and, if equipped, BECM. When the BCM receives an event notification signal which indicates a crash, it initiates fuel cut-off. On HEV and PHEV variants, the BECM also receives the event notification signal. When a crash is indicated, it commands the high voltage battery contactors open.
The RCM monitors the event notification signal circuit for the following faults:
- Short to voltage
- Short to ground
- Open circuit
If a fault is detected, the RCM stores DTC B11D8:12 or B11D8:14 in memory. The airbag warning indicator does not illuminate if B11D8:12 or B11D8:14 is set.
