Battery Disconnect and Connect

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Ford Fusion. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Disconnect

NOTE: Removing the negative battery ground cable at the LH strut tower will not disable the vehicle's electrical system. Failure to disconnect the battery cable from the battery post may cause component damage.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and connected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The charging system set point may also vary. The vehicle may need to be driven to relearn its strategy.
