Trailing Arm: Installation

NOTE: Fabricate a spacer.

NOTE: Focus, Focus-BEV and Focus-ST require different length spacers.
- 1.
  
  Focus, Focus-BEV. Measure the length as per the specifications.
- 2.
  
  Focus-ST. Measure the length as per the specifications.

2.

Support the rear suspension and position the correct spacer. Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack

- 1.
  
  Install the trailing arm and tighten the new front bolts.
  Torque
  
  : 129 lb.ft (175 Nm)
- 2.
  
  NOTE: Finger tight at this stage.
Install the new trailing arm-to-lower arm bolt and nut.

4.

Position the front lower arm and brake hoses and bracket and tighten the bolts.
Torque

: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

5.

Position the wiring harness and install the pin type retainers.

Position the parking brake cable and install the bolt.
Torque

: 17 lb.in (1.9 Nm)

7.

Position the rear shock absorber and install the new rear shock absorber lower bolt.
Torque

: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

Install the underbody shield and install the bolts.

Install the wheel bearing and wheel hub. REFER to: Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub

10.

Install the spring. REFER to: Spring
