Pinpoint Test Ar : The Perimeter Alarm Chime Is Inoperative

  1. AR1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

    Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  AR2
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test AW 

  2. AR2 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE PERIMETER ALARM

    • Arm the perimeter alarm using the remote key locking function (key FOB).
    • Wait approximately 15 seconds for the system to arm.
    • Open the driver door using the interior door handle.

    Does the perimeter alarm sound after 12 seconds? 

    Yes  GO to  AR3
    No  REFER to: Perimeter Anti-Theft Alarm .

  3. AR3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Is DTC U0140:00 recorded? 

    Yes  GO to Pinpoint Test BF 
    No  GO to  AR4

  4. AR4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) .
    No  INSTALL a new BCM. Refer to: Body Control Module (BCM) .
