Flushing
- 1.WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this service information, refer to Safety Warnings in GENERAL INFORMATION . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
Refer to: Engine Cooling System Health and Safety Precautions .

Add Motorcraft Premium Cooling System Flush to the cooling system and follow the directions on the package.Material

Remove the radiator. REFER to: Radiator .
- 4.NOTE: Radiator internal pressure must not exceed 138 kPa (20 psi), or the radiator may be damaged.
Position the radiator with the upper radiator hose connection facing down. Use a high pressure water hose to backflush the radiator through the lower radiator hose connection.

Remove the thermostat housing. REFER to: Thermostat Housing .

Install the thermostat housing. REFER to: Thermostat Housing .
- 8.
Install the radiator. REFER to: Radiator .
- 9.
Fill and bleed the cooling system. REFER to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
