Pinpoint Test B : A Virtual Gauge Is Inoperative: Notes
Diagnostic Overview
Diagnostics in this service information assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. Refer to: Diagnostic Methods .
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
See Accessory Power Gauge, Brake Coach Gauge, Consumption Gauge, Debt Surplus Gauge and High Voltage Battery Gauge. Refer to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - System Operation and Component Description .
If the climate control power usage or accessory power usage data messages are missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the climate or accessory (other) portion of the accessory power gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.
If the climate control power usage or accessory power usage data messages are missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the climate or accessory (other) portion of the accessory power gauge to 0.
If the charge/discharge display data is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the brake coach gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.
If the charge/discharge display data is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the regeneration (circular) arrows off in the regenerative braking active display or the brake event feedback display off in brake coach gauge.
If the battery state of charge data is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the high voltage battery gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.
If the battery state of charge data is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the high voltage gauge to the last indication state, based upon the last message received.
