Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

If the transmission gear display, brake pedal applied or vehicle speed message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the shift to park display to the last indication state (on or off), based upon the last message received.

If the transmission gear display, brake pedal applied or vehicle speed message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the shift to park display off.
