Pinpoint Test BB : DTC U0212:00
- BB1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to BB2. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - BB2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
Does the SCCM pass the network test?
Yes GO to BB3. No REFER to Module Communications Network , The Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool. - BB3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE SCCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the SCCM self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to Steering Column Switches . No GO to BB4. - BB4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
Yes For DTC U3003:16, GO to Pinpoint Test BF . For DTC U3003:17, GO to Pinpoint Test BG . No GO to BB5. - BB5 RECHECK THE IPC DTCs
- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.
- Repeat the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0212:00 still present?
Yes GO to BB6. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - BB6 CHECK FOR DTC U0212:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0212:00 set in the BCM ?
Yes INSTALL a new SCCM. REFER to Steering Column Switches . No INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
