Pinpoint Test AU : DTC U0121:00
- AU1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to AU2. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - AU2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
Does the ABS module pass the network test?
Yes GO to AU3. No REFER to Module Communications Network , The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool. - AU3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded DTCs from the ABS module self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability . No GO to AU4. - AU4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
Yes For DTC U3003:16, GO to Pinpoint Test BF . For DTC U3003:17, GO to Pinpoint Test BG . No GO to AU5. - AU5 RECHECK THE IPC DTCs
- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0121:00 still present?
Yes GO to AU6. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - AU6 CHECK FOR DTC U0121:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0121:00 set in the BCM ?
Yes INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability . No INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
