Pinpoint Test Al : The Headlamps On Warning Chime Is Inoperative
- AL1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
Yes GO to AL2. No INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) . - AL2 CHECK THE INTERIOR LAMPS OPERATION
- Open and close the driver door.
- Observe the interior lamps.
Do the interior lamps operate correctly from the driver door?
Yes For vehicles without IA, GO to AL3. For vehicles with IA, GO to AL4. No REFER to Interior Lighting . - AL3 CHECK THE KEY-IN-IGNITION WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Insert the key into the ignition lock cylinder.
- Open the LH front door and observe the key-in-ignition warning chime operation.
Does the key-in-ignition warning chime operate correctly?
Yes GO to AL4. No INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) . - AL4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes For DTC U0140:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AW . For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Chart - IPC in DTC Chart(s) No GO to AL5. - AL5 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded BCM DTCs from the self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to the BCM DTC Chart in Multifunction Electronic Modules . No INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules . TEST the system for normal operation.
