Shock Absorber and Spring Assembly: Installation

Compress the spring until the tension is released from the shock absorber.General Equipment: Spring Compressor.
NOTE:
Align the index marks made during disassembly.

While holding the shock rod, install the new shock absorber and the shock rod nut.- Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
NOTE:
Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the shock rod from turning while installing the nut.

Install the shock absorber and spring assembly and position the lower arm and wheel knuckle assembly up.
NOTE:
If equipped with dynamic suspension, the RH and LH Continuous Controlled Damping (CCD) shock absorber assemblies are unique and cannot be used on opposite sides of the vehicle.

Install the new stabilizer bar link upper nut.- Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).
NOTE:
Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the stud from turning while removing the nut.

Position the wheel speed sensor wiring and install the wheel seed sensor bracket bolt.- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

Position the brake hose bracket and install the brake hose bracket bolt.- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

Connect the shock absorber and spring assembly wiring harness clips.
- 11.NOTE: If equipped with dynamic suspension.NOTE: RH connector shown in illustration, LH connector similar. Actual connector locations may vary.
Connect the shock absorber and spring assembly electrical connector.
- 12.
Position the height sensor arm bracket and install the height sensor arm bracket screw.- Tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
NOTE:
If equipped with dynamic suspension.
- 13.
Attach the tie rod end to the wheel knuckle and install the new tie rod end nut.- Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
- 14.
Install the wheel and tire. Refer to Wheels and Tires .
