Brake Vacuum Pump - 1.5L EcoBoost (118kW 160PS) - I4: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

- Disconnect and position aside the vent tubes.
- Loosen the clamps and remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
Torque
: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- 3.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and detach the wiring retainers from the CAC intake pipe.
- Release the clamp and disconnect the hose from CAC intake pipe.
- Loosen the CAC intake pipe clamps.
Torque
: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Remove the bolt and the CAC intake pipe.
Torque
: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- 5.
- Release the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose.
- Detach the wiring and vacuum hose retainers.
- Remove the nuts and position aside the turbocharger vacuum control solenoid. Discard the nuts.
Torque
: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- 7.NOTE: Manually align the brake vacuum pump drive key with the camshaft slot before installation.

Remove the bolts and the brake vacuum pump. Discard the bolts.Torque
: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- 2.
Remove and discard the gasket.
- 1.
- 8.NOTE: Make sure the mating surfaces are clean and free of foreign material and thread lock residue is cleaned from the bolt holes.
Clean the mating surfaces and tap the bolt holes.
