Pinpoint Test Be: The Perimeter Alarm Chime Is Inoperative
- BE1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
- Yes : GO to BE2
- No : GO to PINPOINT TEST BJ
- BE2 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE PERIMETER ALARM
- Arm the perimeter alarm using the remote key locking function (key FOB).
- Wait approximately 15 seconds for the system to arm.
- Open the driver door using the interior door handle.
Does the perimeter alarm sound after 12 seconds?
- Yes : GO to BE3
- No : REFER to: PERIMETER ANTI-THEFT ALARM .
- BE3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0140:00 recorded?
- Yes : GO to PINPOINT TEST AF
- No : GO to BE4
- BE4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
- No
: INSTALL a new BCM
