- E1 CHECK THE PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PAM self-test.
Are any PAM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: Parking Aid No GO to E2 - E2 CHECK THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any BCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) No GO to E3 - E3 CHECK THE PSCM (POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PSCM self-test.
Are any PSCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: Power Steering No GO to E4 - E4 CHECK THE SASM (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the SASM self-test.
Are any SASM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) AND STABILITY CONTROL No GO to E5 - E5 CHECK THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the ABS module self-test.
Are any ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) AND STABILITY CONTROL No GO to E6 - E6 CHECK THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM self-test.
Are any PCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes Refer to the appropriate Engine article for the procedure. No GO to E7 - E7 CHECK THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any IPC Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present?
Yes REFER to: INSTRUMENTATION, MESSAGE CENTER AND WARNING CHIMES No GO to E8 - E8 CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all PAM connectors and related in-line connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the PAM connectors and related in-line connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new PAM. REFER to: Parking Assist Control Module (PAM) - 4-Door REFER to: Parking Assist Control Module (PAM) - 5-Door No The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
