1.

Lubricate the input shaft with a thin coating of grease.
Material: Grease - High Temperature (ESD-M1C220-A)

Install the transmission.

Using the special tool and the help from an assistant, raise the powertrain. Use Special Service Tool: 303-1554 Engine Support Bar.

Install the bell housing bolts. Tighten on both sides simultaneously.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Remove the General Equipment: Wooden Block. Remove the General Equipment: Transmission Jack. Remove the General Equipment: Retaining Strap

Use Special Service Tool: 303-1554 Engine Support Bar.

Using the special tool, raise the powertrain. Use Special Service Tool: 303-1554 Engine Support Bar.

Install the transmission support insulator bracket.
Torque: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)

Raise the engine and transmission assembly to align the transmission support insulator.

WARNING: Make sure that a new bolt is installed.

Install the transmission support insulator and the bolt.

Torque: 109 lb.ft (148 Nm)

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

Install the clutch hydraulic tube in the slave cylinder.

Remove Special Service Tool: 303-1554 Engine Support Bar.

Install the bell housing bolts.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Install the LH front halfshaft. REFER to: Front Halfshaft LH

Install the lower control arm shield and push pin.

Connect the electrical connector.

Install the catalytic converter bracket and retainers.

  Install the bracket to transmission retainers.
  Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  Install the bracket to catalytic converter retainer.
  Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Install the PTU. REFER to: Power Transfer Unit

If equipped. Connect the electrical connector.

Position the transmission breather tube and retainer clip.

Position back the wiring harness, install the retainer nuts and brackets

Install the wiring bracket and install the nuts.

If equipped. Install the engine appearance cover.

Connect the gearshift cables.

Install the battery tray support bracket and the nuts. Connect the wiring retainers.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Install the cooling fan and shroud. REFER to: Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud

37.

Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. REFER to: Clutch System Bleeding - 6-Speed Manual Transmission - MMT6

38.

Install the battery tray. REFER to: Battery Tray

39.

Check the transmission fluid level. REFER to: Transmission Fluid Level Check - 2.3L EcoBoost (257kW/350PS) - MI4

40.

If equipped. Install the underbody shield.
