Parking Brake Control: Removal

1.

Remove the floor console. REFER to: Floor Console - Vehicles With: Center Armrest . REFER to: Floor Console - Vehicles With: Center Armrest .

2.

Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.

3.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

4.

Remove and discard the nuts, detach the exhaust pipe and discard the gasket.
Torque

: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

5.

Remove the nuts and position the exhaust heat shield forward.
Torque

: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

6.

Detach the front parking brake cable from the equalizer.

7.

NOTE: During installation, make sure the cable seal is fully seated.

Remove the parking brake control.
- 1.
  
  Disconnect the parking brake switch electrical connector
- 2.
  
  Remove the bolts.
  Torque
  
  : 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)
- 3.
  
  Detach the cable seal and remove the parking brake control.
