Instrument Panel Upper Section: Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Remove the RH and LH A-pillar trim.
Refer to: A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL .
- Both sides.
- Torque
: 18 lb.in (2 Nm)
- Torque
: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Remove the front floor console.
Refer to: FLOOR CONSOLE - VEHICLES WITH: CENTER ARMREST .
- Depending on vehicle option content, remove the FCDIM
or the FDIM
.
Refer to: FRONT DISPLAY INTERFACE MODULE (FDIM) .
- Torque
: 9 lb.in (1 Nm)
- Remove and discard the steering column shaft-to-steering gear bolt and disconnect the steering column shaft from the steering gear.
Torque : 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)
- Remove and discard the 4 steering column bolts and remove the steering column.
Torque : 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)
- Torque
: 9 lb.in (1 Nm)

NOTE: To avoid damaging the upper section, the aid of an assistant is required to carry out this step.NOTE: Make sure that all electrical connectors and wiring are not hindered before removing the upper section or damage to the components may occur.NOTE: Install all the bolts finger tight before final tightening.
Remove the instrument panel upper section.
Torque : 27 lb.in (3 Nm)
