Pinpoint Test Av: DTC U0131:00
- AV1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes : GO to AV2 .
- No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- AV2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
Does the PSCM pass the network test?
- Yes : GO to AV3 .
- No : REFER to Pinpoint Test E: The Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool
- AV3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PSCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the PSCM self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to STEERING SYSTEM .
- No : GO to AV4 .
- AV4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC U3003:16, GO to PINPOINT TEST BF .
For DTC U3003:17, GO to PINPOINT TEST BG .
- No : GO to AV5 .
- AV5 RECHECK THE IPC DTCs NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) or the PMI may not have been carried out.
- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0131:00 still present?
- Yes : GO to AV6 .
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- AV6 CHECK FOR DTC U0131:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0131:00 set in the BCM ?
- Yes : INSTALL a new steering gear. REFER to Steering Gear .
- No : INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
