Pinpoint Test F: A Single Power Window Is Inoperative - RH Rear

NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
  1. F1 CHECK THE RH REAR WINDOW OPERATION FROM THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Attempt to operate the RH rear window from the master window control switch.

    Does the RH rear window operate when using the master window control switch? 

    • Yes  : GO to F2  .
    • No  : GO to  F4.
  2. F2 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE RH REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: RH Rear Window Control Switch C801.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Measure the voltage  between:
      Positive Lead Negative Lead
      Pin Circuit Pin Circuit
      C801-3  CPW14 (VT/WH) - Ground

    Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? 

    • Yes  : INSTALL a new RH rear window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : GO to F3  .
  3. F3 CHECK THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: Master Window Control Switch C504.
    • Carry out the master window control switch component test.

      Refer to OEM WIRING DIAGRAMS COMPONENT TESTING for component testing.

    Did the window control switch pass the component test? 

    • Yes  : REPAIR open in circuit CPW14 (VT/WH). TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : INSTALL a new master window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. F4 CHECK THE RH REAR WINDOW OPERATION FROM RH REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Attempt to operate the RH rear window from the RH rear window control switch.

    Does the RH rear window operate when using the RH rear window control switch? 

    • Yes  : GO to F5  .
    • No  : GO to  F6.
  5. F5 CHECK THE CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN BETWEEN THE RH REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH AND THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Measure the resistance  between:
      Positive Lead Negative Lead
      Pin Circuit Pin Circuit
      C801-1  CPW18 (GY/VT) C504-13  CPW18 (GY/VT)
      C801-4  CPW17 (BN/GN) C504-2  CPW17 (BN/GN)

    Are the resistances less than 3 ohms? 

    • Yes  : INSTALL a new master window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
  6. F6 CHECK THE HIGH CURRENT POWER TO THE RH REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: RH Rear Window Control Switch C801.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Measure the voltage  between:
      Positive Lead Negative Lead
      Pin Circuit Pin Circuit
      C801-5  CBP48 (GY/YE) - Ground

    Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? 

    • Yes  : GO to F7  .
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  7. F7 CHECK THE GROUND TO THE RH REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Measure the resistance  between:
      Positive Lead Negative Lead
      Pin Circuit Pin Circuit
      C801-8  GD348 (BK/YE) - Ground

    Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? 

    • Yes  : GO to F8  .
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  8. F8 CHECK THE RH REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 

    Did the RH rear window control switch pass the component test? 

    • Yes  : GO to F9  .
    • No  : INSTALL a new RH rear window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
  9. F9 CHECK FOR AN OPEN BETWEEN THE RH REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH AND THE WINDOW MOTOR 
    • Disconnect: RH Rear Window Motor C803.
    • Measure the resistance  between:
      Positive Lead Negative Lead
      Pin Circuit Pin Circuit
      C801-6  CPW24 (WH/VT) C803-2  CPW24 (WH/VT)
      C801-7  CPW23 (GY) C803-1  CPW23 (GY)

    Are the resistances less than 3 ohms? 

    • Yes  : INSTALL a new RH rear window motor. REFER to WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR - REAR DOOR . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.
