Pinpoint Test AQ: The Parking Brake Warning Chime Is Inoperative

- AQ1 CHECK THE KEY-IN-IGNITION WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- With the ignition switch in the OFF position and the key in the ignition lock cylinder, open the LH front door and observe the key-in-ignition warning chime operation.
- Does the key-in-ignition warning chime operate correctly?
- Yes : GO to AQ2.
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- AQ2 CHECK THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR OPERATION
- Apply the parking brake.
- Ignition ON.
- Observe the brake warning indicator.
- Does the brake warning indicator illuminate?
- Yes : GO to AQ3.
- No : GO to Pinpoint Test M .
- AQ3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded IPC DTCs from the self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC U0140:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AY .
For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Charts .
- No : GO to AQ4.
- Yes
: For DTC U0140:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AY .
- AQ4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded BCM DTCs from the self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES for correct navigation of the DTC.
- No : INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
