Instrument Panel: Removal
All vehicles
- Apply the parking brake.
- Place the selector lever in the NEUTRAL position.
- If equipped with adjustable pedals, move the pedals to the full forward position.
- Remove the steering wheel. For additional information, refer to STEERING WHEEL .
- Remove the Instrument Cluster (IC). For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)

Vehicles without floor console
- Remove the valance panel and the 3 pin-type retainers.
Vehicles with floor console
- Remove the floor console. For additional information, refer to CONSOLE - FLOOR .
Vehicles with rear footwell ducts
- Remove the front passenger seat. For additional information, refer to SEATING
.
All vehicles
- Remove the LH and RH front door scuff plate trim panels.
- Position the LH and RH front door weatherstrip seals aside.
- Remove the A-pillar trim panels and cowl side trim panels. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
- Remove the LH and RH instrument panel side finish panels.
- Remove the LH and RH lower cowl trim panels.
- Remove the RH lower cowl trim panel pushpin retainer.
- Remove the parking brake release handle bolt.
- Detach the wire harness pin-type retainer and route the parking brake release handle through the lower instrument panel frame.
- Remove the hood release handle bolt and position aside the hood release handle.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors at the LH lower cowl.
- Detach the wire harness pin-type retainer at the LH lower cowl.
- Remove and discard the steering column shaft-to-steering column bolt.
- Separate the steering column shaft from the steering column.
Vehicles with column shift
- Disconnect the steering column selector lever cable from the selector lever.
- Position aside the steering column selector lever cable in the following sequence.
- Remove the selector lever cable from the bracket.
- Remove the selector lever cable pin-type retainer and position aside the steering column selector lever cable.
If equipped with a floor console
- Remove the 4 center instrument panel support bracket bolts and remove the center instrument panel support bracket.
All vehicles
- Position aside the LH footwell carpet, remove the 4 LH center instrument panel support bracket bolts.
- Remove the LH center instrument panel support bracket.
- If equipped, disconnect the in-vehicle temperature sensor hose.
- Detach the wire harness pin-type retainer located on the RH center instrument panel support bracket.
- Position aside the RH footwell carpet and remove the 4 RH center instrument panel support bracket bolts.
- Remove the RH center instrument panel support bracket.
- Fully lower the glove compartment door in the following sequence.
- Open the glove compartment door.
- Depress the 2 glove compartment door tabs inward and fully lower the glove compartment door.
- Disconnect the radio antenna and if equipped, the satellite antenna.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors located on the HVAC housing.
- Disconnect the blower motor speed controller electrical connector.
- Fully close the glove compartment door in the following sequence.
- Lift the glove compartment door upward.
- Depress the 2 glove compartment door tabs inward and fully close the glove compartment door.
- Disconnect the electrical connector at the RH lower cowl and the 2 Smart Junction Box (SJB) electrical connectors.
- Detach the 2 wire harness pin-type retainers from the SJB.
- Remove the LH and RH instrument panel upper cowl trim panels.
- Remove the 2 screws from the instrument panel reinforcement bracket located in the IC opening.
- Pull the instrument panel reinforcement bracket toward the rear of the vehicle.
- Remove the 3 LH instrument panel upper bolts.
- Remove the RH instrument panel upper bolt.
- Remove the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) module, if equipped with a Sony® sound system. For additional information, refer to INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS - SONY 8-INCH TOUCHSCREEN

Vehicles with 20 percent front seat
- Remove the cushion tray in the following sequence.
- Raise the 20 percent front seat cushion.
- Remove the 2 pushpins and lift the rear edge of the cushion tray upward to release the retainers.
- Pull the cushion tray rearward to unhook the front edge of the cushion tray from the seat frame.
- Lift upward to remove the cushion tray.
- Lift the small carpet flap and disconnect the small Restraints Control Module (RCM) connector.
- Remove the RCM wire harness scrivet from under the small carpet flap.
- Pull back the front footwell area of the passenger side carpet to gain access to the RCM wire harness.
- Remove the RCM wire harness scrivet and detach the RCM wire harness pin-type retainer.
- Pull the RCM
wire harness out from under the 20 percent front seat bracket and the carpet.
Vehicles with a floor console
- Lift the small carpet flap and disconnect the small RCM electrical connector.
- Remove the wire harness scrivet from under the small carpet flap.
- Pull back the front footwell area of the passenger side carpet to gain access to the RCM wire harness.
- If equipped, remove the passenger floor duct pushpin retainer.
- If equipped, position the passenger floor duct above the carpet.
- Detach the RCM wire harness pin-type retainer.
- Pull the RCM wire harness under the floor console mounting bracket.
- If equipped, lift the passenger floor duct upward and detach the wire harness pin-type retainer.
- If equipped, pull the wire harness under the passenger floor duct.
All vehicles

NOTE: To avoid damage to the instrument panel, an assistant is required to support the panel before carrying out this step.
Remove the LH and RH instrument panel side bolts.

NOTE: To avoid damage to the instrument panel, an assistant is required when carrying out this step.NOTE: To avoid damage to the wire harness, make sure that all electrical wiring and connectors are not caught up on other components.
Remove the instrument panel form the vehicle.
- Transfer parts as needed.
