Shipping Mode

The vehicle is placed in a shipping mode at the completion of production to reduce the drain on the battery. Various systems, such as the ACM, Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS), Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) and central locking are altered in how they operate or are disabled when in the shipping mode. Before being transported to the dealer network, the shipping mode is turned off. In the event that the shipping mode is still enabled, the integrated circuit display indicates SHON.

To disable or turn off the shipping mode, carry out the following:

1. Verify the battery is fully charged.
2. With the ignition in the OFF position, press and hold the RESET button on the IC.
3. While holding the RESET button, cycle the ignition to the RUN position, then OFF twice ending in the RUN position within 3 seconds.
4. Continue to hold the RESET button until SHOF or SHIP OFF is displayed.
