Pinpoint Test I: U0100:00: U0100:00

  1. I1 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the Network Test.

    Do both the PCM and the GWM pass the Network Test? 

    1. Yes  : GO to I2 
    2. No  : DIAGNOSE the no communication with the PCM  or GWM  .

      REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .

  2. I2 CHECK THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE CONTINUOUS MEMORY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (CMDTCS) 
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS  module self-test.
    • Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS  module self-test.
    • Record the ABS  module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    Is DTC U0100:00 retrieved again? 

    1. Yes  : GO to I3 
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC  may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  3. I3 REVIEW THE RECORDED ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE SELF-TEST DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) 
    • Check the recorded Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the ABS  self-test.

    Was DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 recorded? 

    1. Yes  : For DTC  U3003:16, GO to PINPOINT TEST A 

      For DTC  U3003:17, GO to PINPOINT TEST F 

    2. No  : GO to I4 
  4. I4 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) IN THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) 
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the GWM  self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present in the GWM ? 

    1. Yes  : GO to the DTC  Chart: GWM  .

      REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .

    2. No  : GO to I5 
  5. I5 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) IN THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) 
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM KOEO  self-test.

    Is DTC P0562 or P0563 present? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to: CHARGING SYSTEM .
    2. No  : GO to I6 
  6. I6 CHECK FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) U0100:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES 
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the self-test for all modules.
    • Retrieve the Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs) from all modules.

    Is DTC U0100:00 set in 1 or more modules in addition to the ABS module? 

    1. Yes  : CHECK OASIS  for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB  exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB  instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new PCM.

      REFER to: ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - 1.6L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - Sigma .

      REFER to: ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW/250PS) - MI4 .

      REFER to: ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - 2.5L Duratec (125kW/170PS) .

    2. No  : CHECK OASIS  for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB  exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB  instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new ABS  module and HCU  assembly.

      REFER to: HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU)  .
