No Power In All Ignition Switch Positions - Conventional Ignition Switch

  1. A1 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH

    Is the ignition switch OK?

    1. Yes  : GO to A2
    2. No  : INSTALL a new ignition switch.

      REFER to: IGNITION SWITCH  .

  2. A2 CHECK THE VEHICLE BATTERY
    • Carry out the Battery Condition Test.

      REFER to: BATTERY .

    Is the battery OK?

    1. Yes  : GO to A3
    2. No  : CORRECT the battery condition and VERIFY correct charging operation. For non-HEV  ,

      REFER to: CHARGING SYSTEM .

      For HEV  ,

REFER to: DIRECT CURRENT/DIRECT CURRENT (DC/DC) CONVERTER CONTROL MODULE .

  3. A3 CHECK FOR POWER TO THE IGNITION SWITCH
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead
      C250-4  VOLTAGE Ground

Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?

    1. Yes  : GO to  A5
    2. No  : VERIFY BCM  fuse 18 (5A) is OK. If OK, GO to A4  If not OK, REFER to the OEM ELECTRICAL WIRING DIAGRAM INTRODUCTION -- (EXCEPT HYBRID) to identify the possible cause of the circuit short.
  4. A4 CHECK FOR POWER TO BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FUSE 18 (5A)
    • Verify BCM  fuse 18 (5A) is installed.
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead
      CFUSE-18 (5A)  VOLTAGE Ground

Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?

    1. Yes  : REPAIR the circuit between BJB  fuse 18 (5A) and ignition switch C250  .
    2. No  : VERIFY high current BJB  MEGA fuse 2 (125A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the BCM  voltage supply circuit. If not OK, REFER to the OEM ELECTRICAL WIRING DIAGRAM INTRODUCTION -- (EXCEPT HYBRID) to identify the possible cause of the circuit short.
  5. A5 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
    • Disconnect and inspect all BCM  connectors.
    • Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    • Reconnect the BCM  connectors and all other previously disconnected connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present?

    1. Yes  : CHECK OASIS  for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB  exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB  instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM  . REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
