Pinpoint Test C: B1B58:11: B1B58:11

  1. C1 CHECK THE BUMPER WIRING HARNESS 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Inspect the bumper wiring harness for opens, shorts, grounds, or corrosion.

    Is the bumper wiring harness OK? 

    • Yes  : GO to C2 
    • No  : REPAIR or INSTALL a new bumper wiring harness.
  2. C2 CHECK THE LH (LEFT-HAND) REAR OUTER PARKING AID SENSOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT 
    • Disconnect: LH  Rear Outer Parking Aid Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1B58:11 still present? 

  3. C3 CHECK THE LH (LEFT-HAND) REAR INNER PARKING AID SENSOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: LH  Rear Inner Parking Aid Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1B58:11 still present? 

  4. C4 CHECK THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) REAR INNER PARKING AID SENSOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: RH  Rear Inner Parking Aid Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1B58:11 still present? 

  5. C5 CHECK THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) REAR OUTER PARKING AID SENSOR FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: RH  Rear Outer Parking Aid Sensor.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1B58:11 still present? 

  6. C6 CHECK THE PARKING AID SENSOR VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: Parking Aid Module (PAM) C4014C 
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead
      C2280E-26  OHM Ground

    Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    • Yes  : GO to C7 
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit.
  7. C7 CHECK THE PARKING AID SENSOR VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT AND GROUND CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TOGETHER 
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement/Action Negative Lead
      C2280E-26  OHM C2280E-27 

    Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    • Yes  : GO to C8 
    • No  : REPAIR the circuits.
  8. C8 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect and inspect all BCM  connectors.
    • Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    • Reconnect the BCM  connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present? 

    • Yes  : CHECK OASIS  for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM  .

      REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .

    • No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
