Removal and Installation: Turbocharger: Removal

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, refer to Safety Warnings in GENERAL INFORMATION -- FUSION . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

NOTE: Whenever turbocharger air intake system components are removed, always cover open ports to protect from debris. It is important that no foreign material enter the system. The turbocharger compressor vanes are susceptible to damage from even small particles. All components should be inspected and cleaned, if necessary, prior to installation or reassembly.

Refer to: HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
1. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING .
2. Torque : 5 Nm
3. Torque : 5 Nm
4. Torque : 5 Nm
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING - OVERVIEW .
1. Torque : 10 Nm
2. Torque : 5 Nm
Refer to: CATALYTIC CONVERTER .
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING .
NOTE: Both water outlet tube clamps must be installed between the 2 paint stripes on hoses.

Torque : 28 Nm
Torque : 10 Nm
Torque : 25 Nm
NOTE: Make sure that a new turbocharger oil supply filter is installed.
NOTE: Make sure that a new turbocharger oil drain tube is installed. By not doing so, the turbocharger oil drain tube may leak and cause engine damage.

Torque : 10 Nm
NOTE: Make sure that 2 new turbocharger oil drain tube gaskets are installed. By not doing so, the turbocharger oil drain tube may leak and cause engine damage.

1. Early build vehicles equipped with metal vacuum tubes.
2. Late build vehicles equipped with nylon vacuum tubes.
