Rear Door Alignment

Adjustment 

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.

All alignments 

  1. 1.

    Check the body to rear door dimensions. Refer to: Body and Frame .

  1. 2.

    Remove the bolts and the striker assembly.

Rear door in and out, up and down alignment 

  1. 3.

    Loosen the bolts to permit movement of the door.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

  1. 4.

    Adjust door to specification. Refer to: Body and Frame .

Rear door fore, aft and tilt alignment 

  1. 5.

    Remove the safety belt retractor and pretensioner. Refer to: Seatbelt Shoulder Height Adjuster .

  1. 6.

    Loosen the nut to permit movement of the door.

    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  1. 7.

    Loosen the bolt to permit movement of the door.

    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  1. 8.

    Loosen the nuts to permit movement of the door.

    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  1. 9.

    Adjust the door to specification. Refer to: Body and Frame .

All alignments 

  1. 10.

    Tighten the bolts.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  1. 11.

    Check the body to rear door dimensions. Refer to: Body and Frame .

  1. 12.

    Install any removed components as needed.
