Pinpoint Test Ac: U0100:00

  1. AC1 VERIFY THE SCAN TOOL COMMUNICATES WITH THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) 
    • Connect the scan tool.
    • Check that a vehicle session can be established using the scan tool.

    Can a vehicle session be established? 

    1. Yes:  GO to AC2
    2. No:  REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
  2. AC2 CHECK THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) CONTINUOUS MEMORY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
    • Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Repeat the IPC self-test.

    Is DTC U0100:00 retrieved again? 

    1. Yes:  GO to AC3
    2. No:  The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  3. AC3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) KOEO (KEY ON, ENGINE OFF) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.

    Are any charging system DTC recorded? 

    1. Yes:  REFER to: CHARGING SYSTEM - 2.0L DURATEC-HE .
    2. No:  GO to AC4
  4. AC4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Is DTC U0140:00 set? 

    1. Yes:  GO to Pinpoint Test AF 
    2. No:  GO to AC5
  5. AC5 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    1. Yes:  REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
    2. No:  INSTALL a new BCM.

      REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
