Pinpoint Test Y: The Headlamps On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. Y1: CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

    Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds? 

    1. Yes:  GO to Y2
    2. No:  GO to Pinpoint Test A 
  2. Y2 CHECK THE INTERIOR LAMPS OPERATION 
    • Open and close the driver door.
    • Observe the interior lamps.

    Do the interior lamps operate correctly from the driver door? 

    1. Yes:  GO to Y3
    2. No:  REFER to: INTERIOR LIGHTING .
  3. Y3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    1. Yes:  For DTC U0140:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AF 

      For DTC U0151:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AG 

      For all other Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to DTC Chart: IPC  .

    2. No:  GO to Y4
  4. Y4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    1. Yes:  REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
    2. No:  INSTALL a new BCM.

      REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
