Pinpoint Test F: The Speedometer Is Inoperative
- F1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to ENGINE CONTROLS - INTRODUCTION (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) (SECTION 0) .
- No : GO to F2.
- F2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC U0100:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST AS .
For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Chart - IPC .
- No : GO to F3.
- F3 CARRY OUT THE SPEEDOMETER ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
- Using a scan tool, view the IPC PIDs.
- Select the IPC speedometer (SPDOMETER) PID.
- Command the speedometer on and off while monitoring the speedometer.
- Does the speed begin at 0 km/h (0 mph), move to 225 km/h (140 mph), and return to 0 km/h (0 mph)?
- Yes : INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
