Pinpoint Test Al: The Headlamps On Warning Chime Is Inoperative
- AL1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
- Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
- Yes : GO to AL2.
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- AL2 CHECK THE INTERIOR LAMPS OPERATION
- Open and close the driver door.
- Observe the interior lamps.
- Do the interior lamps operate correctly from the driver door?
- Yes
: For vehicles without IA, GO to AL3.
For vehicles with IA, GO to AL4.
- No : REFER to INTERIOR LIGHTING .
- AL3 CHECK THE KEY-IN-IGNITION WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Insert the key into the ignition lock cylinder.
- Open the LH front door and observe the key-in-ignition warning chime operation.
- Does the key-in-ignition warning chime operate correctly?
- Yes : GO to AL4.
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- AL4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC U0140:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST AW .
For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Chart - IPC .
- No : GO to AL5.
- AL5 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded BCM DTCs from the self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to the BCM DTC Chart in MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
- No : INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
