Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Programming

NOTE: All RKE transmitters must be programmed at the same time. Entering the programming mode erases all previously programmed RKE transmitters (IKTs and key fobs). The PATS portion of the programmed IKTs is unaffected.
  1. Unlock the door locks using the door lock control switch.
  2. Cycle the ignition from OFF to RUN to OFF 4 times in rapid succession (within 6 seconds), with the fourth turn ending in OFF. If the module successfully enters program mode, a chime sounds.
  3. NOTE: If no action is taken within 10 seconds after a transmitter has been programmed, the programming sequence ends (a chime sounds to confirm that programming is complete).

Within 10 seconds, press and hold any button on the RKE transmitter to be programmed until a chime sounds to confirm the RKE transmitter is programmed. Repeat this step for each RKE transmitter.

  4. Exiting the programming mode is accomplished when:
    • the ignition transitions ON.
    • 10 seconds have passed since entering programming mode or since the last RKE transmitter was programmed.
  5. Check the operation of the RKE transmitters. If the door locks do not respond for the programmed RKE transmitter(s), wait several seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, refer to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS .
