Pinpoint Test F: A Single Power Window Is Inoperative - LH Rear

NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
  1. F1 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: LH Rear Window Control Switch C717.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Make sure the rear passenger window lock-out switch (located in the master window control switch assembly) is in the UNLOCK position.
    • Measure the voltage  between:
      Positive Lead Negative Lead
      Pin Circuit Pin Circuit
      C717-2 RPW07 (GY/OG) - Ground

    • Are the voltages greater than 11 volts?
    • Yes  : GO to F2.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit.
  2. F2 CHECK THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH NORMALLY CLOSED GROUND CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Measure the resistance  between:
      Positive Lead Negative Lead
      Pin Circuit Pin Circuit
      C717-3 CPW21 (BN) - Ground
      C717-6 CPW22 (GN/VT) - Ground

    • Does the LH rear window move up and/or down?
    • Yes  : REMOVE the jumper wires. If the LH rear window did not operate from the LH rear window control switch, INSTALL a new LH rear window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH - REAR . If the LH rear window did not operate from the master window control switch, INSTALL a new master window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH - FRONT .
    • No  : REMOVE the jumper wires, GO to F5.
  5. F5 CHECK THE POWER WINDOW CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: LH Rear Window Motor C703.
    • Measure the resistance  between:
      Positive Lead Negative Lead
      Pin Circuit Pin Circuit
      C717-1 CPW22 (GN/VT) C703-1 CPW22 (GN/VT)
