Removal and Installation

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this information, refer to Safety Warnings in SERVICE INFORMATION . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
NOTE: The roof opening panel motor must be initialized when repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system, including: whenever the roof opening panel motor has been removed from the roof panel system, the roof opening panel glass has been removed from the roof opening panel system, the roof opening panel assembly has been removed from the vehicle, a new roof opening panel motor has been installed, a new roof opening panel glass has been installed or a new roof opening panel assembly has been installed. Refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION .

  3. Remove both A-pillar trim panels. Refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  4. NOTE: Release retainers and position as necessary to lower headliner.

  5. Remove the overhead console. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .

  11. Remove both B-pillar trim panels. Refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .

  14. NOTE: To avoid damage to the quarter trim panel, transfer any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the quarter trim panel before installing.

    Disconnect and pull back as necessary to access C-pillar and D-pillar. Both sides.

  15. NOTE: To avoid damage to the C-pillar trim panel, transfer any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the C-pillar trim panel before installing.

  16. NOTE: To avoid damage to the D-pillar trim panel, transfer any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the D-pillar trim panel before installing.

  17. NOTE: Plug the rear washer hose after disconnecting. Failure to do so will result in damage to headliner due to fluid leakage.

    NOTE: RH side shown in illustration, repeat steps for LH side.

    Lower the headliner as follows:

    1. From inside the vehicle at the roof opening panel cutout, pull down on the headliner to release the magnets holding the headliner to the roof.
    2. While holding the headliner down at the roof opening panel cutout, pull down on the outer edge of the headliner to release the magnets and lower front of the headliner. Support the headliner as necessary.

    • Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
