Pinpoint Test Al: The Hill Start Assist Chime Is Inoperative
- AL1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Unbuckle the driver safety belt.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
- Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
- Yes : GO to AL2.
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- AL2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC U0121:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST AV .
For DTC U0140:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST AX .
For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Chart - IPC .
- No : GO to AL3.
- AL3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded BCM DTCs from the self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
- No : REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) AND STABILITY CONTROL to diagnose the hill start assist system.
