SYMPTOM CHART - INFORMATION AND MESSAGE CENTER

The message center display is blank	IPC	VERIFY the IPC gauges and indicators are functioning correctly. If the IPC gauges and indicators are not functioning correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . If the IPC gauges and indicators are functioning correctly, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
An AWD message is never or always displayed	Message center concern All-Wheel Drive (AWD) concern	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY that the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning does not function correctly, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly, REFER to FOUR WHEEL DRIVE (4WD) SYSTEMS to diagnose the AWD system.
A brake warning (brake fluid level low, parking brake applied or brake system malfunction) message is never or always on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed. If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE . If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST L (never on) or GO to PINPOINT TEST M (always on).
The charging system warning is never or always on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed. If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE . If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST W to diagnose the charging system warning indicator.
The cruise control message center indicator is never on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AD .
The compass display is inoperative	GPSM	Refer to the appropriate Information And Entertainment System for the procedure.
The door ajar message display is never or always on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AE .
The engine oil change due message is never on	Message center concern The PCM has not reached the programmed mileage based on the criteria required to display the message.	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed. If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE . If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, the vehicle has not met the criteria required to display the message since the last oil life reset. EXPLAIN the oil minder function to the customer. REFER to OIL CHANGE MINDER .
The engine oil change due message is always on	The oil life needs reset	CARRY OUT the OIL LIFE RESET procedure. REFER to OIL LIFE RESET .
The engine over-temperature warning is never or always on	PCM concern IPC	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the door ajar message center warning functions correctly. If the door ajar message center warning does not function correctly, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . If the door ajar message center warning functions correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST C to diagnose the temperature gauge.
An exterior lighting bulb outage message is always on	Message center concern Exterior lighting concern	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed. If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE . If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
The factory mode message is always displayed	Vehicle still in factory mode	CONTACT the hotline for further instructions on how to place the vehicle in normal operation mode.
A hill start assist display is never on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AF .
The outside air temperature display is inoperative or incorrect	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AG .
The parking aid malfunction message is always on	Parking aid system concern	Refer to the PARKING AID SYSTEM - ACTIVE PARK ASSIST , or PARKING AID SYSTEM - VISUAL for the procedure.
A passive key status (no key detected, key inside vehicle, key not inside keyholder) message is inoperative or always on (IA only)	Message center concern IA concern	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed. If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE . If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, REFER to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS - WITH WINDOW ONE-TOUCH UP .
The reverse parking aid/CTA menu/display is not available (parking aid and CTA cannot be disabled)	A MyKey® is in use	The system is operating correctly. To display the reverse parking aid menu, an administrator key must be used.
The shift to park display is never on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AH .
The stablity-traction control malfunction warning is never or always on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed. If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE . If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST O .
The stablity-traction control disabled warning is never on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed. If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE . If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST P .
A steering malfunction message is always on	Message center concern EPAS system concern	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed. If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE . If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, REFER to POWER STEERING .
A TPMS malfunction message is never or always on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed. If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE . If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST T to diagnose the TPMS warning indicator.
A tire training message (train left front, right front, left rear or right rear tire) is never on	TPMS warning indication concern TPMS sensor training concern	NOTE: These messages only appear during the TPMS sensor training procedure. VERIFY the TPMS warning indicator functions. If the TPMS warning indicator does not operate, GO to PINPOINT TEST T . If the TPMS warning indicator operates, CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. REFER to TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) .
The training complete message is never on	TPMS sensor training incomplete	NOTE: These messages only appear during the TPMS sensor training procedure. CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. REFER to WHEELS AND TIRES or TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) .
The tires not trained message is always on	TPMS sensor training concern	NOTE: These messages only appear during the TPMS sensor training procedure. CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. REFER to TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) .
The transmission malfunction display is always on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AI .
The transport mode message is always displayed	Vehicle still in transport mode	DISABLE the transport mode to place the vehicle in normal operation mode. REFER to Disabling Transport Mode in MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
A vehicle starting/ignition status (press brake to start or switch ignition off press power) message is inoperative or always on (IA only)	Message center concern IA concern	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the driver door ajar message displays correctly with the door open and closed and the vehicle functions in all ignition modes. If the driver door ajar message does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE . If the driver door ajar message functions correctly, REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES .

SYMPTOM CHART - WARNING CHIMES

All the chimes are inoperative	IPC	VERIFY the IPC gauges and indicators are functioning correctly. If the IPC gauges and indicators are not functioning correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . If the IPC gauges and indicators are functioning correctly, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
The active park assist chime is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	Starting with the ignition OFF, the driver door closed and the driver safety belt unbuckled, PLACE the ignition in ON and CHECK the safety belt warning chime. If the safety belt warning chime sounds, REFER to ACTIVE PARK ASSIST . If the safety belt warning chime is inoperative, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
The Belt-Minder® feature chime is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AR .
The Belt-Minder® cannot be deactivated	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AR .
The chime always sounds	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AJ .
The door ajar warning chime is inoperative or always sounds	Door ajar indication concern BCM IPC	VERIFY the safety belt warning chime operates for 6 seconds following ignition ON. If the safety belt warning chime sounds, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE to diagnose the door ajar message center warning. If the safety belt warning chime does not sound, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
The headlamps on warning chime is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AK .
The hill start assist chime is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AL .
The key-in-ignition warning chime is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AM .
The key left in vehicle chime or passive key out of vehicle chime is inoperative (IA only)	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AN .
The low fuel warning chime is inoperative or always sounds	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AO .
The parking brake warning chime is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AP .
The perimeter alarm warning chime is inoperative	Perimeter alarm concern IPC	VERIFY the perimeter alarm functions correctly and the headlamps on warning chime operates with the headlamps on, ignition OFF and the driver door open. If the perimeter alarm functions correctly and the headlamps on warning chime sounds, REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PERIMETER to diagnose the perimeter alarm. If the perimeter alarm functions correctly and the headlamps on warning chime does not sound, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . If the perimeter alarm does not operate correctly, REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PERIMETER .
The remote key programming confirmation chime is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AQ .
The safety belt warning chime does not operate correctly	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AR .
The turn/hazard on warning chime is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST AS .
