- AJ1 CHECK THE IPC FOR MESSAGE CENTER MESSAGES
- Ignition ON.
- Check the IPC and message center for illuminated warning indicator or message center displays.
- Does the IPC have any message center messages displayed?
- Yes : GO to Symptom Chart - IPC or GO to Symptom Chart - Information And Message Center .
- No : GO to AJ2.
- AJ2 CHECK THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING OPERATION
- Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
- Close all doors.
- Wait one minute.
- Observe the exterior lights.
- Are the headlamps and parking lamps off?
- Yes : GO to AJ3.
- No : REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
- AJ3 CHECK THE INTERIOR LIGHTING OPERATION
- Open and close the driver door.
- Observe the interior lights.
- Do the interior lights operate correctly from the driver door?
- Yes : GO to AJ4.
- No : REFER to INTERIOR LIGHTING .
- AJ4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
- Are any DTCs present?
- Yes
: For DTC B10F1:13, GO to AJ5.
For all other DTCs, REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
- No : GO to AJ7.
- AJ5 CHECK THE KEY-IN-IGNITION INPUT CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE AT THE BCM
- Ignition OFF.
- Remove the key from the ignition cylinder.
- Disconnect: BCM C2280C.
- Measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C2280C-46 CDC30 (BU/GY) - Ground - Is any voltage present?
- Yes : GO to AJ6.
- No : GO to AJ7.
- AJ6 CHECK THE KEY-IN-IGNITION INPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE AT THE BCM WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH DISCONNECTED
- Disconnect: Ignition Switch.
- Measure the voltage
between:
Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C2280C-46 CDC30 (BU/GY) - Ground - Is any voltage present?
- Yes : REPAIR the circuit.
- No : INSTALL a new ignition switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES .
- AJ7 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect all the BCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect all the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
