Removal and Installation
All vehicles
- Remove the transmission selector lever. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER .
- Remove the instrument panel defroster grille panel. Refer to DEFROSTER GRILLE PANEL .
- If equipped remove the 2 instrument panel speaker bolts and the speaker.
- Remove the Data Link Connector (DLC) cover.
- Remove the drivers side knee air bag module. Refer to, SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
- Remove the steering column. Refer to STEERING COLUMN .
- Remove the 2 Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) screws, release the upper retainer and remove the IPC.
- Remove the bolt and the Global Positioning System Module (GPSM).

NOTE: RH side shown in illustration, LH side similar.
Remove the RH and LH instrument panel side finish panels.
- Remove the 5 screws and remove the lower LH instrument panel trim panel.
- Remove the Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Remove the headlamp switch.
- Remove the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) bezel and module.
- Remove the instrument panel Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) antenna.
- Remove the lower RH side instrument panel insulator panel.
- Remove the 4 glove compartment screws and the glove compartment.

NOTE: Harness not shown in illustration for clarity.
Remove the 2 passengers side air bag bolts.
- Remove the 3 screws and remove the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) ducts.
- Remove the HVAC ducts.
Vehicles with 8 inch display
- Remove the Front Display Interface Module (FDIM). Depending on vehicle options refer to, INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS - 8 INCH (203MM) TOUCHSCREEN, 9 SPEAKERS or INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS - SONY 8 INCH (203MM) TOUCHSCREEN, 10 SPEAKERS .
- Remove the 2 bolts and the Audio Front Control Module (ACM).
- Remove the Front Control/Display Interface Module (FCDIM). Depending on vehicle options refer to, INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS - MONOCHROMATIC DISPLAY, 6 SPEAKERS . or INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS - 4.2-INCH (107MM) SCREEN, 6 SPEAKERS .
- Remove the 2 bolts and the ACM.

NOTE: RH side shown in illustration, LH side similar.
If equipped remove the RH and LH HVAC blend door position sensors.

NOTE: To avoid damaging the upper section, the aid of an assistant is required to carry out this step.NOTE: Make sure that all electrical connectors and wiring are not hindered before removing the upper section or damage to the components may occur.
Remove the 15 bolts and the instrument panel upper section.

NOTE: Install all the bolts finger tight before final tightening.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
