Pinpoint Test E: B10D7:81
NOTE:
This pinpoint test requires a second programmed IA key. If only one key is available, obtain a second programmed IA key.
- E1 CHECK THE IA KEY
- Verify the correct IA keys are used with the vehicle.
- Are the correct IA keys used?
- Yes : GO to E2.
- No : OBTAIN the correct key(s) for the vehicle. PROGRAM the new key(s). REFER to KEY PROGRAMMING USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT .
- E2 ISOLATE THE IA KEYS NOTE: The IA system must be disabled for the BCM to activate the PATS transceiver and read the key in the transceiver slot. Removing BCM fuse 81 (5A) disables the IA system by removing power from the RFR module.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, clear the BCM DTCs.
- Disconnect: BCM fuse 81 (5A).
-
NOTE: Follow the steps below using both IA keys (using one at a time).
Place an IA key in the PATS transceiver slot.
- Cycle the ignition from ON to OFF and then back to ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
- Is DTC B10D7:81 retrieved for both IA keys?
- Yes : INSTALL a new PATS transceiver. REFER to PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) TRANSCEIVER .
- No : DISCARD the key in question and PROGRAM a new key. REFER to KEY PROGRAMMING USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT .
