Pinpoint Test Ax: DTC U0140:00
- AX1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
- Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes : GO to AX2.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- AX2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
- Does the BCM pass the network test?
- Yes : GO to AX3.
- No : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK , The BCM Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
- AX3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
- No : GO to AX4.
- AX4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
- Is DTC U3006:16 or DTC U3006:17 recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC U3006:16, GO to PINPOINT TEST BI .
For DTC U3006:17, GO to PINPOINT TEST BJ .
- No : GO to AX5.
- AX5 RECHECK THE IPC DTCs NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) or the PMI may not have been carried out.
- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the IPC self-test.
- Is DTC U0140:00 still present?
- Yes : GO to AX6.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- AX6 CHECK FOR DTC U0140:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
- Is DTC U0140:00 set in the ABS module, APIM or the RCM?
- Yes : INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
